Coaching for advanced conductors: analysis, interpretation and conducting techniques

Each active participant will have 75 minutes podium-time under instruction and guidance of Douglas Bostock.

Active participants must prepare the following 5 works:
– Ludwig van Beethoven – SYMPHONY n.1 op.21, mvt. 1 and 2 – Bärenreiter (orchestral score, available on IMSLP.org, edited by Del Mar)
– Charles Gounod – PETIT SYMPHONIE – ed. Costallat (available on IMSLP.org)
– Joseph Horovitz – FANTASIE ON A THEME OF COUPERIN – ed. Novello
– Kennet Hesketh – DANCERIES SET 1 – ed. Faber Music
– Toshio Mashima – LA DANSE DU PHENIX – ed. Bravo Music

Participation fee:
€250.00 – active participation
€140.00 – passive participation

A maximum of 10 active participants will be selected for the class. The number of passive participants is UNLIMITED

REQUESTED DOCUMENTATION:
When applying for active participation, in addition please send application fee receipt, your CV (including date of birth) and a list of the main repertoire you already conducted, a 5-10 minute RECENT video (direct link eg YouTube, dropbox, google drive etc.) of you conducting in rehearsal or concert.

Announcement of active participants September 10th, 2026
Application fee is 120€, once admitted to the masterclass, the entire fee must be sent.

If the application for active participation is not accepted and the applicant doesn't wish to join as a passive participant the full application fee will be refunded within 10 days of the application deadline. Those accepted for active or passive participation must pay the remainder of the course fee within 10 days of the announcement of the participants.
