Remarks: The Solsberg Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2025. The chamber music festival in Olsberg and Rheinfelden in the canton of Aargau has been an integral part of cellist Sol Gabetta's annual schedule since her international breakthrough in the early 2000s. The annual program and focus of the festival are based on Sol Gabetta's artistic priorities and goals. As the cellist is particularly keen to provide a platform for the next generation of artists, the Solsberg Young Artists format has been added to previous editions alongside exciting, annually changing constellations of artists. This program for young talent enables her and the audience to get to know promising personalities at the beginning of their careers. Her latest project, the Solsberg Academy, should also be understood in this sense. The transfer of knowledge between generations is becoming increasingly central for Sol Gabetta. Sol Gabetta has invited her long-time teacher Ivan Monighetti to the first Solsberg Academy. From June 29 to July 3, five to six selected cellists will be taught by Monighetti as part of an intensive master class in Rheinfelden.
